Rangers-owned Harry Forrester reacts on Twitter as James Tavernier opens scoring in 3-0 win

Glasgow Rangers defender James Tavernier gave the side the lead in their Scottish Premiership clash at Ibrox.

Harry Forrester has taken to Twitter to express his delight for James Tavernier after the Rangers defender gave Graeme Murty’s men the lead in their Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen at Ibrox on Wednesday.

The Gers went into the game with the Dons looking for a significant upturn in form after losing their last two games, with Hamilton leaving Ibrox with a win before Dundee lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a win at Dens Park last Friday.

But they made the perfect start against Derek McInnes’ men, taking the lead inside the first seven minutes when James Tavernier broke the deadlock from the penalty spot to score his third goal of the season.

And shortly after the goal, Forrester – currently spending the season on loan with League One side AFC Wimbledon – took to social media to comment on Tavernier opening the scoring against Aberdeen.

It would get better for the Gers before the break as Carlos Pena marked his return to the starting lineup by doubling the lead before Tavernier got back on the scoresheet once again to make the score 3-0 in the second-half.

It was a hugely impressive night for Murty and his side, but it may be forgotten about fairly quickly if they do not follow it up with a positive result and performance when the same two teams meet at the weekend.
