Glasgow Rangers announced on Friday that the 21-year-old Latics man is now an Ibrox player.

Glasgow Rangers have confirmed on their official website that defender George Edmundson has joined the Ibrox outfit from League Two Oldham Athletic for an undisclosed fee reported by the Daily Record as being £650,000.
The 21-year-old Latics academy graduate has penned a four-year contract at Rangers – subject to international clearance – to become Steven Gerrard’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
Edmundson, an imposing centre-back who stands 6ft 1in tall, is expected to provide competition for Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic in the heart of the Light Blues defence, and joins Sheyi Ojo, Greg Stewart, Steven Davis, Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones as new recruits.
As reported by the official Rangers website, Edmundson made his debut for the Boundary Park club in the 2015-16 season before heading off to Ramsbottom United on loan to gain experience, while stints at Alfreton Town and AFC Fylde followed before he established himself in the Oldham side last season.
In 2018-19, Edmundson made 54 appearances across all competitions for the Latics – including in an impressive display in a shock 2-1 win away at then Premier League side Fulham in the FA Cup – and scored twice, according to Transfermarkt.
