PAOK Salonika have told Rangers how much Giovanni van Bronckhorst must pay if he is, in fact, interested in signing striker Antonio Colak this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Gers boss is considering a move for the 28-year-old after Colak produced an eight-goal campaign across all competitions. He started the season strongly whilst on loan at Malmo, hitting home five from 14 fixtures, before returning to Greece and adding only three in 23.

Colak had flourished after moving to Malmo on loan ahead of the 2021 Allsvenskan season last March with 14 goals from 26 appearances. But the three-cap Croatia international was unable to maintain his output after returning to the Toumba Stadium for the start of 2022.

PAOK demand Rangers pay £2m for Antonio Colak with Van Bronckhorst interested

Now, PAOK are prepared to sell Colak with Rangers showing interest, as the German-born striker is entering the final two years of his contract this summer. But the Double-headed eagle of the North have told Van Bronckhorst that he must pay at least £2m for a transfer.

Van Bronckhorst has marked Colak as a target who can add depth at centre-forward after flourishing in the Champions League. All five of the Ludwigsburg native’s goals for Malmo during the 2021/22 campaign came during qualifying games to book their spot in Group H.

Colak would go on to start all six group stage ties against Juventus, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Chelsea. He also amassed 718 minutes of action, but failed to find the back of the net or lay on an assist as Malmo lost five games and took their solitary point at home to Zenit.

Meanwhile at Ibrox, Van Bronckhorst recalled Cedric Itten in January to add depth among his attacking options. But the Swiss only featured seven times and played for 323 minutes, despite scoring twice, and has now been sold to BSC Young Boys in a £1.5m deal in June.
