Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly wants Oli McBurnie at Ibrox, and the striker’s tweet on Celtic in August 2019 will go down well among the Gers’ fans.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Rangers are interested in signing McBurnie from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window.

The Blades reportedly want £15 million as transfer fee for the Scotland international striker.

It remains to be seen if Rangers would be willing to spend that much money on a single player this summer.

But one thing is clear – McBurnie does not like Celtic.

McBurnie is a Rangers fan, and he does not shy away from mocking Celtic whenever he gets the chance.

The 24-year-old was having a laugh at the expense of Celtic back in August 2019.

Celtic were beaten 4-3 by Cluj in August 2019 and failed to progress to the Champions League group stage.

The 24-year-old was delighted at that and posted the following message on Twitter:

Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership this season and could play in the Champions League in 2021-22.

A player like McBurnie will help the Gers in that quest and will also enhance their chances of winning the league title again next season.
