The Glasgow Rangers ace praised Ibrox 2018-19 trio Connor Goldson, Gareth McAuley and Joe Worrall.

Following his return to the Glasgow Rangers camp, Nikola Katic has praised three members of the Ibrox class of 2018-19 for helping him improve his game in his maiden campaign at the famous club (official Gers website).
Connor Goldson, Gareth McAuley and Joe Worrall were all part of the Rangers back line in what was also Steven Gerrard’s first season at the club, one in which the Ibrox side mounted a good Scottish Premiership title challenge and beat their Old Firm rivals twice.
Katic made 30 appearances for Rangers in all competitions last term, his first season at Ibrox following his move from Croatian club Slaven Belupo in the summer of 2018 (Transfermarkt), though it was not all plain sailing as endured a frustrating spell though he did finish strongly.
Since his break, the 22-year-old Gers defender went on to play all three matches for Croatia at the Euros but losses to Romania and France before a draw with England saw the World Cup finalist nation finish bottom of Group C.

With his nation out of the tournament, it means Katic became free to rejoin his club, and on Wednesday he flew out to meet up with his club in Portugal’s Algarve region, Rangers boss Gerrard getting his charges ready for a busy campaign.
Speaking about the trio, two of whom are no longer at Ibrox – McAuley and Worrall – Katic was full of praise, telling the official Rangers site: “I think I improved a lot by training with top players and playing with Connor, Gareth and Joe. They are all top defenders and helped improve my game a lot over the year. This season, I can show a lot more from me, and I am ready to go and show my qualities.”
With George Edmundson having arrived from Oldham Athletic and another centre-half reportedly set to be brought in this summer (Herald Scotland), Katic will be hoping to build on last season and make one of the central defence slots his own.
