Glasgow Rangers are poised to complete double deal.

Rangers are closing in on a double transfer deal for Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, The Telegraph report.
It is shaping up as a significant play from the Gers as they look to win back the title.
If there is one criticism which can be made, it’s the ages of the two players, with Davis 34-year-old and Defoe 36.
It’s not that they can’t contribute now, more so the problem is what happens when they cannot?
Their experience can be an asset to Rangers, but there is a long term view which must be taken as well as a short term one.
That’s why when it comes to Rangers’ next signing, they must ensure it is a player with youth on their side.
Rangers need to land a player who has potential to be a Gers mainstay in five years time.

Steven Gerrard has done a terrific job of getting Rangers into immediate contention for the title, and this has been with the help of veterans like Allan McGregor.
The manager must also show that he is leaving something in place for when time comes that if Liverpool look to hire him in 2022, he can leave something substantial behind, and not a rebuilding job.
Signing Ryan Kent on a permanent basis would be a fantastic start, or a player of his calibre who is not already at the club.
