Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to hand Ross McCrorie a new contract after his fine run of form for the Ibrox side.

McCrorie has taken little time to adapt to the demands of playing for the senior side, proving to be a player that both Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty have looked to use in the defence despite having vastly more experienced options to pick from.

It is no surprise that the Light Blues want to extend the teenager’s contract – The Scottish Sun reports that the new deal could be for four years – and after his latest performance, Rangers would perhaps be wise to get a move on with agreeing the terms.
McCrorie adopted more of a midfield role in their Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen on Wednesday, being deployed just in front of the defence and dropping into the backline when required. And his performance suggested that he could be set to perhaps become an even better player than some would have expected.

The academy graduate excelled in the role, seemingly enjoying a brilliant understanding with the defence and the midfield and there appears to be the potential for McCrorie to make that particular role his own should the club persevere with that system in the coming games.
And if he continues to develop as rapidly as he has done so far, then Rangers should have no hesitation making sure they agree that new long-term deal as quickly as possible as it would be no surprise if clubs started to sniff around the Ibrox youngster in the near future.
