Rangers have been linked with a move to bring Nick Powell to Ibrox.

Wigan Athletic playmaker Nick Powell is a man in demand – and Rangers should be looking to pip Celtic to his signature in January.
Powell, 24, will be remembered for joining Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra in 2012, but he failed to make the grade at Old Trafford before signing for Leicester City in 2014 and then Wigan in 2016.
The attacking midfielder has really impressed with the Latics, hitting 15 goals in all competitions whilst he has also notched three goals and three assists in seven league games for Wigan this term.
The problem for Wigan is that Powell is out of contract this summer and could walk away for free, with The Sun reporting that Celtic are preparing a lucrative contract offer to lure him to Glasgow.
However, TEAMtalk recently reported that Rangers were keen to bring in Powell too, and Steven Gerrard’s men must be preparing a pre-contract deal to pip Celtic to his services.
Powell would be able to pen a deal with Rangers in January to join for the start of next season on a free transfer, and Rangers have struck similar deals before in their quest to chase Celtic on a budget.

Powell’s goalscoring ability from midfield would be vital for Steven Gerrard’s side, whilst he still has huge potential to get even better under the Rangers boss, with few free transfers quite as appealing as Powell.
Powell has the quality on the ball and desire to support the attack that Rangers need, especially in games against Celtic, and beating their Old Firm rivals to his signature with a hefty pre-contract offer in January would be a huge coup for the Gers.
