Rangers should be firming up their interest in left back Greg Taylor.

Rangers are likely to be in the market for another left back this summer, even if Borna Barisic ends up staying at Ibrox.
Barisic, Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan failed to really make the position their own, and bringing in a left back to really kick on would be ideal.
The Daily Record recently noted that Rangers are interested in signing Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor, with a host of clubs keen on the 21-year-old.
Now, The Scottish Sun believe that German side Nurnberg have failed with a £500,000 bid for Taylor, with Kilmarnock holding out for more money for their star left back.
If ever there was a time for Rangers to make their move for Taylor, it’s now. Nurnberg are believed to be weighing up a new move for the left back, and Rangers need to get involved or risk missing out.
The Scotland international has already been at Rangers in the past, but was let go as a teenager in 2014 after six years with the club, meaning a return – to accomplish some sort of unfinished business – may be appealing.

Taylor isn’t developed as an attacking full back, but at 21, he has plenty of time to grow into that role, and he would set Rangers up for years at left back with a move.
Taylor wouldn’t break the bank for Rangers, and Kilmarnock may be put in a difficult position if the fee involved reaches seven figures, which shouldn’t be beyond Steven Gerrard’s men.
If Rangers hang around, they will regret missing out on Taylor, just as they probably regret letting him go in the first place now. Nurnberg’s bid should be the alert for Rangers to firm up their interest, even with Barisic’s position still unclear.
