Rangers struggles against Aberdeen this season struck again last night.

The Gers were beaten 2-0 at Ibrox, sending Steven Gerrard’s side out of the Scottish Cup.

Defence remains a problem and Borna Barisic produced another below par display at left-back.

Left-back has been an issue for Rangers all season, so much so that Andy Halliday is viewed as the safest option by many fans.

The solution could be staring Steven Gerrard in the face.

Former captain Lee Wallace remains outcast, as hangover from his bizarre fallout with the club which preceded Gerrard’s arrival.

Wallace has played two matches this season, totalling only 49 minutes.

It may have got to the point where Gerrard needs to consider giving Wallace a run in the team.

The alternatives are not stepping up, and giving Wallace one last chance to prolong his career at Ibrox is an option Rangers must now explore.
