HITC Sport understands that Rangers are eyeing a move for League One keeper.
Rangers are interested in signing Jak Alnwick from Port Vale in the January transfer window, HITC understands.
The Scottish Premiership club are in the market for a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes with current number two Matt Gilks close to leaving to join Championship side Wigan Athletic.

Alnwick came through Newcastle’s youth academy, and he made eight appearances for the first-team before leaving for Port Vale in the summer of 2015.
The 23-year-old has impressed at Port Vale since his arrival at the club and his performances have brought him to the attention of Rangers.

Alnwick has kept 10 clean sheets in 30 games in all competitions for Port Vale, and Rangers see the shot-stopper as the ideal replacement for Gilks as he will provide competition and cover for Wes Foderingham.
Port Vale are reluctant to lose their prize asset, but know they cannot do anything now the release clause in his contract has been met by the Scottish giants.
Rangers are now hoping to get the go-ahead to hold talks with Alnwick as they look to tie up a deal for the highly-rated keeper before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
