Glasgow Rangers are holding talks over a move for free agent Josh Magennis, report the Belfast Telegraph.

Rangers are believed to be looking for alternatives to Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos.

Magennis’ potential arrival at Ibrox would be a kick in the teeth for Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty.

Lafferty is an international teammate of Magennis for Northern Ireland.

In recent matches Magennis has replaced him. Now he could end his Rangers career.

If Rangers move for Magennis, there would be no room for Lafferty at Ibrox.

Kyle Lafferty of Rangers looks on during the Ladbrookes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on February 16, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

He already found his playing time at Rangers limited since Defoe’s arrival at the club in January.

Lafferty seems to be on his way out of Ibrox. But to lose his place to an international teammate would be crushing.

Kyle Lafferty of Rangers is seen during the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Play Off match between Rangers and FC Ufa at Ibrox Stadium on August 23, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.
