Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers are eight points behind Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic.
Steven Davis of Rangers
Recent results and performances of Rangers have allowed Celtic to take a considerable lead at the top of the league table.
Brendan Rodgers’s side are eight points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers at the moment.
Rangers midfielder Davis, who returned to Ibrox in the January transfer window on loan from Premier League club Southampton, believes that the Gers are still in the race for the league title this season.
The 34-year-old Northern Ireland international midfielder also seems to have also admired the consistency that Celtic are showing at the moment.
Davis told The Daily Record: “I am not forgetting about the title. I came here to try to win trophies. That’s a chance to do so.
“It’s going to be a tough task in the the position we’re in, the points we’re behind and the consistency Celtic are showing as well. But until it’s over we will keep believing we can get ourselves back in there.”

Title challenge
A gap of eight points can be closed, but for that to happen, Rangers need to be very consistent and have to go on a winning run.
Celtic have shown remarkable consistency in the Scottish Premiership in recent weeks, and even when they have not played well, they have picked up points.
Rangers need to learn how to win ugly and how to bag points even when their performance leaves much to be desired.
