The Rangers midfielder has impressed under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox this season.

Scott Arfield could reunite with one of his best-ever teammates if he leaves Rangers for Southampton.
According to The Daily Mail, the Rangers midfielder has emerged as a target for the Saints ahead of the summer transfer window – leaving the Gers boss, Steven Gerrard, with a fight to hang on to him.
Whether or not Arfield – who it is claimed is likely to be valued at around £3 million by Rangers – would consider quitting Ibrox remains to be seen.
But the prospect of playing alongside his former Burnley teammate, Danny Ings, is one the Scottish-born Canadian could find appealing.
Speaking to Sky Sports shortly before Ings’ departure for Liverpool four years ago, the now Rangers man said: “I think Danny is a fantastic player and he’s out of contract this summer so I don’t think he is going to be with us next season.

“There’s no question that Danny will be sorely missed if he moves on.”
And when asked by Beats & Rhymes FC the previous year to name a five-a-side team comprised of his ‘best-ever’ teammates, Arfield replied: “My striker would be Ingsy, because you’re guaranteed goals and hard work.”
Both players have been in fine form for their clubs this season, with Ings – whose loan from Liverpool will turn permanent from July – scoring eight goals in 20 games for Southampton, and Arfield scoring 11 in 42 for Rangers.
