Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers recently signed Graham Dorrans from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

Former Kilmarnock striker Mark Roberts has told The Scottish Sun that Graham Dorrans would be a big success at Rangers.

Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have signed Dorrans from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Gers had to pay the Canaries a transfer fee of £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the former West Bromwich Albion and Livingston midfielder.

Roberts, who is 41 years of age and plays for Hurlford United at the moment, played with Dorrans at Partick Thistle, and he has backed the 30-year-old Scotland international to be a big success at Rangers.

“It shows Rangers’ intentions that they are bringing in a player like Dorrans, who has played at the top level in England with West Brom and Norwich,” Roberts told The Scottish Sun.

“He has faced all of the world’s best superstars in the Premier League and coped fine, so I feel sure he will be a big success at Ibrox.

“The other thing is Dorrans is only 30 and seems a fit lad, so he could play for another five or six years at the top level.

“It’s definitely a step up in quality in terms of standard of player Rangers had been signing. There is no doubt Bruno Alves is top quality, and Dorrans comes into that category too.”

Dorrans is a very good midfielder and has a lot of experience; the former West Brom man should prove to be a brilliant signing for Rangers, who finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season.

The Scotland international will be a key player in the Gers’ quest to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
