Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers are challenging Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic for the title.
Andy Halliday of Rangers
The Gers are going strong in the Scottish Premiership at the moment and are very much in the race for the title.
Rangers are second in the league table at the moment with 45 points from 23 matches, six points behind leaders and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
The Ibrox club have also progressed to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup and could go all the way in the competition.
Rangers midfielder Halliday has said that manager Gerrard wants his team to win a trophy this season.
Halliday told The Herald regarding Gerrard wanting a trophy this season: “That is 100 per cent, nobody has got more of a winning mentality than that man. He is drilling that into the boys every single day.
“Like I say, the progress has been there but we need to progress even more if we want to win.”

Worry for Celtic
Rangers are a force to be reckoned with, and Celtic should be worried about what Gerrard wants from his team.
True, the Hoops may have won the Scottish League Cup already this campaign, but Rangers seem determined to win at least one trophy this season, and that means that Celtic’s chances of winning the domestic treble for the third successive season are in danger.
