Rangers are hoping to close in on new signings this week with boss Michael Beale suggesting that deals could be done in the coming days.

The Gers beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Saturday evening with Borna Barisic scoring the only goal of the game.

Rangers have been picking up strong results under Beale but he would probably admit himself that performances can be better.

Beale will be looking for a few new signings before the transfer deadline later this month, especially if he wants to chase down Celtic.

Beale was unsurprisingly asked about transfers when speaking to Viaplay after Saturday’s win.

The Rangers boss suggested that there will be transfer news in the coming days, hinting that some signings are close.

“There will be some days in the coming days. None right now but there will be in the coming days,” said Beale.

Who could Rangers sign after Michael Beale hint?

The Gers have been linked with a number of players but three rumours appear to be very strong.

Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell has been heavily linked of late and Football Scotland claim that he has said goodbye to his teammates ahead of undergoing a medical with Rangers.

The 24-year-old has lost his way a little at Carrow Road and may now relish a fresh start with Rangers moving forward.

Another prime target for Rangers is Swansea City ace Morgan Whittaker.

The Daily Record claim that a third bid from Rangers is imminent after Swansea rejected two offers over the last week or so.

Whittaker has missed Swansea’s last couple of games, which could pave the way for a move to Ibrox; if he plays one game for Swansea this month, a deal will be ruled out after Whittaker’s loan spell at Plymouth Argyle.

Then there is Nicolas Raskin, the Standard Liege midfielder Rangers are seemingly pushing to sign.

Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri claims that Rangers are in ‘advanced discussions’ to sign Raskin this month.

Out of contract this summer, Raskin could be a bargain addition as Rangers seek to revamp their midfield options.

All three signings would be huge for Rangers but Beale would probably be happy with two this week.
