Rangers may look to bring a new striker to Ibrox in January.

Rangers will be thinking about the January transfer window already, making plans for potential targets – but they may only need one new signing.
The Gers had a hugely productive summer transfer window, bringing in 15 new signings to completely re-tool Steven Gerrard’s squad.
With just two defeats in all competitions, Gerrard has fared well with Rangers, and fans aren’t expecting a hugely busy January window given the competition for places across the pitch.
However, with Umar Sadiq struggling and potentially heading back to Roma with his loan deal a complete failure so far, another striker may well be on Gerrard’s radar.
A number of forwards may be linked, but the Daily Mail reported earlier this year that Rangers wanted Preston North End’s Louis Moult, and asking for updates about his situation with the striker allegedly open to heading back to Scotland.
Moult is a proven Scottish Premiership goalscorer having hit 38 goals in 84 games for Motherwell, before heading to Preston in January, where he has scored just four times in 23 outings.

The 26-year-old hasn’t quite managed to fit in with Preston, and if Rangers are still keen on Moult as another proven goalscorer to compete with Kyle Lafferty and Alfredo Morelos, then January may be the perfect time to move.
Manchester City loanee Lukas Nmecha is finally coming to the fore for Preston, whilst Sean Maguire is back from injury, and with Callum Robinson often used in the centre of Alex Neil’s attack too, Moult may end up finding himself third or even fourth choice at Deepdale.
With Preston still looking for a real target man too, they may well look to move Moult on in January, and with Rangers allegedly asking to be kept up to date with the plans for Moult, Gerrard should certainly consider bringing Moult back to Scotland to give himself more firepower.
