It has been a brilliant few weeks for Rangers.
Steven Gerrard has delivered a first Premiership title to Ibrox for a decade and victory over Celtic in the Scottish Cup last week means that a double is well and truly on.
Everything is coming up Rangers as of late, but the Glasgow giants must accept the possibility of losing Alfredo Morelos during the summer.
Gers fans would hate to lose the Colombian marksman, but if a big offer comes in for Morelos – who has been linked with moves to France and England in recent years – then on this occasion, Gerrard and Ross Wilson might just take it.
That’s because according to The Record, Rangers are close to signing Fashion Sakala and if that’s true, he may be brought in as the South American’s replacement.
With Morelos, Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe at Ibrox, signing another striker makes zero sense unless one was leaving.
And with there being talk of Defoe sticking around for another year, and Roofe and Itten only arriving last summer, logically Morelos is the most likely to leave if Sakala is genuinely coming in.
The 24-year-old has netted 13 goals in Belgium’s top flight this season – more than double what Roofe managed in that division last term – and the good news is that if Rangers do sign him, it’ll be for free.
The Zambian hitman is out of contract with KV Oostende this summer and if Morelos is sold, Gerrard and Wilson will have a lot of money to strengthen other areas of the squad.
