Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard speaks highly of Ibrox winger Glenn Middleton, while Jamie Murphy raves about Gers duo Allan McGregor and Connor Goldson.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard
Middleton joined Rangers from Norwich City in the January transfer window and made his competitive debut for the Gers against FK Shkupi in the first leg of the Europa League first round qualifier earlier this month.
The 18-year-old winger filled at left-back during the closing stages of the pre-season friendly match against Wigan Athletic at Ibrox this past weekend.
Rangers manager Gerrard, who was appointed in the role at Ibrox earlier this summer, has stated that the youngster will be at Ibrox next season.
The Liverpool legend has also spoken highly of the Scotland Under-21 international.
Gerrard told The Glasgow Evening Times about Middleton: “He is a player for the future and I have to manage Glenn really well and put him in at the right time. In terms of potential, he has got it all.
“Glenn is staying here. We see him as a very important squad player and definitely being a big part of it.
“He is a baby, he is very young, so we have to make sure he has got his own individual plans in terms of training.”
Quality footballer
Middleton is a very talented and promising young winger, and the teenager’s performances for Rangers under Gerrard have been very encouraging.
The Scotsman should be confident of establishing himself in the Rangers first team this season, as the Gers aim to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title as well as progress to the Europa League.

Praise for Rangers duo
Meanwhile, Rangers winger Jamie Murphy has spoken highly of new signings Allan McGregor and Connor Goldson.
Murphy told The Scottish Sun about McGregor: “Allan McGregor has been great in training and in the games.
“He is probably one of the most experienced guys we could have signed. He has won leagues, played down south, in big cup finals.”
Murphy said about Goldson: “Connor was a good friend of mine down at Brighton. I was delighted to see him coming up and he is settling in well.
“He was good enough to play in the Premier League but he just never got many chances.”
