Ibrox club Rangers are interested in signing Dyer on loan from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun (print edition, page 61, August 26, 2018) (click here to read more).
Back in June, TEAMtalk credited the Gers with interest in 22-year-old Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Gauld, who joined the Portuguese giants from Dundee United in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £3 million.
Rangers manager Gerrard, though, has said that he does not plan to sign either Dyer or Gauld.
The Liverpool, though, has said that he plans to bring in a new central defender, and that he will bring in a winger for the injured Jamie Murphy if they are able to secure a place in the group stage of the Europa League.
Gerrard told The Daily Record when asked about speculation on Gauld: “Nothing. I’ve been asked about Nathan Dyer and there’s nothing in that either.
“Hopefully we can get a centre-back in. I’m not sure if it’s loan or permanent – could be either.”
The Rangers manager added: “Getting a replacement for Jamie will depend on whether we get through or not. We may have to line something up before the window closes.”

Good plan
Rangers’ performance against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership this past weekend showed that they still need to do a lot of work defensively.
Another central defender is certainly going to help, and so will a replacement for Murphy.
Rangers have done good business so far this summer, and the Ibrox fans should keep faith in Gerrard in the final few days of the transfer window.
