Pundit and out-of-work manager Tim Sherwood has told Sky Sports’ The Debate that he would consider any job, when asked whether he would be interested in moving to Rangers.
Sherwood, 48, took his first steps into management as Andre Villas-Boas’ replacement at Tottenham back in December 2013, but winning 50% of his 28 games in charge wasn’t enough to keep him in the job.
Mauricio Pochettino replaced him in the summer of 2014, and Sherwood was out of work for until February 2015, when he took over at Aston Villa, immediately taking them to the FA Cup final and Premier League survival.

However, Sherwood lasted just eight months at Villa Park, leaving with a 36% win rate – and after two years out of management, the former England international remains without a club having left his post as Swindon Town’s director of football over the summer.
Sherwood may now be looking to get back into management though, and he was asked on Sky Sports’ The Debate whether he would have any interest in becoming the new Rangers boss, with Sherwood admitting that he would consider any job – as long as his ambitions are met.
“Yeah I would consider any job at the moment,” said Sherwood. “I will talk to anyone and see if their ambitions meet mine, so yeah certainly,” he added.

Rangers sacked manager Pedro Caixinha last month after just seven months in the job, and a host of names have been linked with the job, including Derek McInnes and Michael O’Neill.
Sherwood hasn’t really factored into the equation so far though, and with Rangers still searching for their next boss, it may be time for Sherwood to really put his name into the frame.
Gers fans may not be too enthused at Sherwood’s interest, given his patchy record in England and their desire for somebody with prior ties to Rangers to win the job, but Sherwood’s passion for developing young players may just win him an interview – if he decides to apply for the job.
