Rangers have reportedly been interested in luring Derek McInnes to Ibrox.

Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has told the club’s official website that manager Derek McInnes is staying with the club amid links with Rangers.
McInnes, 46, took the Aberdeen job in April 2013 following a disappointing spell with Bristol City, but he has more than rebuilt his reputation since heading to Pittodrie.
The Scot has won 58% of his games in charge of the Dons, and he even won the Scottish League Cup back in 2014, whilst he also has three consecutive second-placed finishes to his name.
McInnes’ exploits haven’t gone unnoticed though, and the Dons boss rejected interest from Sunderland over the summer in order to stay with Aberdeen – but that hasn’t stopped admiring glances.
BBC Sport recently reported that Rangers have made McInnes their top target to be their next manager, having sacked Pedro Caixinha last month.
Meanwhile, The Scottish Sun claimed earlier this week that West Bromwich Albion – searching for a new manager after sacking Tony Pulis on Monday – are keen to bring their former skipper McInnes back as manager.
Many felt that McInnes would be on the move to either Rangers or West Brom, but Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has told the club’s official website that McInnes has told him he won’t be leaving.
Milne revealed that McInnes has unfinished business with Aberdeen, as he doesn’t want to leave with just one trophy to his name, meaning Rangers may well have to look elsewhere for a new manager.
“Derek made his position very clear to me last night that he has no intentions of going anywhere. He loves this club,” said Milne. “He knows he’s loved, he knows he’s respected by everyone at the club and the fans out there. I think anybody who heard Derek speak [at the new stadium hearing] about his passion for this club – it’s a big, big part of his life. He firmly believes he has unfinished business here.”
“He’s always said to me that he didn’t want to leave this club with just one trophy in the boardroom. It’s great news for everyone that he is committed. He just wants to get on doing the job. He spent a lot of time, effort and money over the summertime to rebuild the team. Since this he has re-signed a number of players to extend their contracts and everyone recognises the fantastic job he and Tony Docherty have done,” he added.
