Lee Wallace in action against Rangers

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has suggested to the club’s official website that he was impressed with the performance of Lee Wallace at the weekend.

Wallace featured for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership game against Motherwell at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

The 29-year-old defender started the match, but he had to be taken off at half time.

Caixinha has explained why he was forced into bringing off the left-back, and has also praised the Scotland international.

“Lee Wallace came back from the national team injured and he put in a great effort because he is the leader and because he is the captain and he wanted to be on the pitch,” Caixinha told Rangers’ official website. “He did fantastically until he couldn’t carry on any more.”

Wallace is a very good defender, and he has played quite well for Rangers so far this season.

The left-back is very committed and gives his all on the pitch, and it seems that new Rangers boss Caixinha has been impressed with him.

Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 51 points from 30 matches, 10 points behind second-placed Aberdeen.

The Gers’ Old Firm rivals, Celtic, have already won the Scottish Premiership title this season.
