Glasgow Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has been quoted as saying by The Daily Record why he has made so many changes to his squad so far in the summer transfer window.

Caixinha has signed as many as seven players on permanent contracts for Rangers so far this summer and one player on a loan deal.

As many as three players have left Rangers already for good, while another has been loaned out for the 2017-18 campaign.

There could be more changes to the team, as a number of Rangers players have been linked with moves away from Ibrox in the summer transfer window.

According to The Express, Josh Windass, Harry Forrester, Rob Kiernan, Michael O’Halloran and Martyn Waghorn all would also be sold for the right price, while doubts reportedly hang over the futures of Jordan Rossiter and Matt Crooks.

Rangers manager Caixinha has explained why he has been making so many changes to the squad he inherited from Mark Warburton, who is now in charge of Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England.

“One of the reasons we arrived early last season was to give us a chance to assess the squad,” Caixinha told The Daily Record.

“The president bought out our contract early to give us time to get to know the squad, the different levels of training and the Scottish market to form an opinion as to what the team needs.

“And we did. We identified a group of 13 or 14 players who did not have the requirements to belong to a great team like Rangers.

“At the same time, we identified a list of ten players we wanted, not forgetting the need to have a hard core of important Scottish players.”
