Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers signed Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera in the summer transfer window.
Pena, who is 27 years of age and operates as a midfielder, joined Rangers from Liga MX side Guadalajara in the transfer window for a fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £2.2 million.
Herrera, who is 29 years old and plays as a forward, moved to the Gers from Mexican side Pumas in the summer for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £1.5m.
Neither Pena nor Herrera has played regularly for the Ibrox outfit so far this season.
While the midfielder has made just one substitute appearance this campaign, the forward has been included in the starting lineup by Rangers manager Caixinha only once, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Rangers manager Caixinha has explained that he is waiting for the right moment to unleash the duo.
“Carlos is working hard so is Herrera,” Caixinha told Rangers’ official website. “I know them very very well and I know that they are going to help us as a team and, of course, as individual players they are going to do very good in Scottish football.
“We just need to know the exact moment to release them and give them the chance to do it. But they are really working hard and I think that they are at the same level as the others at the moment.”
Rangers have not made a great start to the 2017-18 Scottish Premiership and have picked up just four points from three matches so far.
