Glasgow Rangers are still searching for their new manager, and there appears to be a new contender for the Ibrox post in the betting market.

There is a surprise new name amongst the contenders in the running for the Rangers manager’s job, with Sky Bet listing Wales boss Chris Coleman as the 8/1 fourth favourite for the Ibrox post.
Coleman’s future with Wales appears to be up in the air at the moment, with BBC Sport reporting that his contract with the national team ends at the end of this month and he himself is not sure whether he will be staying on following their inability to qualify for next year’s World Cup.

Interestingly, bookmaker Sky Bet believe that it would not be out of the question for the Wales boss to end up succeeding Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox as he joins Michael O’Neill – who has been linked with the post by The Telegraph – at 8/1 in the market.
The two international bosses sit just behind Feyenoord’s Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who is listed at 6/1. Derek McInnes remains at the top of the market, with the Aberdeen boss remaining the 8/13 favourite, while current caretaker Graeme Murty is second favourite at 4/1.

It remains to be seen whether there is anything in Coleman’s odds shortening apart from the fact that he could soon be available if he does not renew his contract with Wales.
But if he did become a contender, there may be a number of supporters who may be keen on seeing the 47-year-old appointed as he has done a fantastic job with Wales, most notably taking them to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
