Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers will face Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this coming weekend.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty has responded to Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers’s recent comments about the Ibrox club being under pressure in the Old Firm derby, as quoted by The Scotsman.

As quoted by The Daily Mail, Celtic boss Rodgers recently said that Rangers will be under huge pressure to win the Scottish Premiership game this coming weekend as they are the home team.

Rangers boss Murty has responded to those comments from the former Liverpool and Swansea City manager.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Murty told The Scotsman: “I saw those comments. Listen, we are always under pressure to perform at Ibrox. We have a very demanding clientele.

“Our fans are used to players of the highest standard playing at the highest level and we are striving to get back to a level that’s worthy
of that. We’re not there yet but next week will be a measure of where we are on our journey.”

Relishing the pressure

Rangers fans will expect the team to win at Ibrox, but they will know that Celtic will head into the game as favourites.

After all, the Hoops are the best team in Scotland and have some of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.

However, Celtic will be under pressure not to lose, as a win for Rangers will give the Gers a realistic chance of challenging for the league title.

The Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic this coming weekend could be a classic.
