Glasgow Rangers manager Graeme Murty has positive injury news on Ibrox defender Ross McCrorie.

McCrorie, who is a rising star at Rangers, is on the sidelines at the moment with a foot injury and met with a specialist this week.
The 19-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, suffered the injury during Rangers’ recent trip to Florida during the mid-season winter break.
Rangers boss Murty has given a positive injury update on McCrorie, and the Scotland Under-21 international himself is optimistic about a quick return.

Murty told Rangers’ official website: “Ross has been to see his specialist, we are hopeful he doesn’t need a surgical intervention which is great; it is just rest because of the damage sustained to his foot.
“He was incredibly brave playing through a lot of pain; fortunately we don’t think it has caused any long term damage which is good.”
“We need to make sure we do the right thing for his long term future,” added Murty. “It’ll be weeks not months.”
McCrorie told Official Rangers Podcast: “Hopefully it’s not too long. There is no time scale on it. It’s just a case of seeing it day to day, and hopefully it gets better soon.”

McCrorie has established himself as an important player for Rangers, and the Gers will be a better team when the 19-year-old is back in action and is full fit.
The youngster is hugely talented, and working with Murty is only going to make him better.
Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 43 points from 23 matches, as many as 11 points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.
