Rangers ace McCrorie has been given the armband for Scotland’s Under-21 side.

Rangers star Ross McCrorie has told the Scottish FA’s official website that he is looking to follow Hearts defender John Souttar’s path into Scotland’s first team.
Souttar, 21, made his Scotland debut in the 4-0 loss to Belgium after starring for Hearts during the first part of the Scottish Premiership season, before helping Alex McLeish’s side keep a clean sheet against Albania.
Scotland got their UEFA Nations League campaign off to a flyer with a 2-0 win over Albania, thanks to an own goal and a header from Hearts teammate Steven Naismith.
McCrorie, who is in action on Tuesday night against Netherlands after helping Scotland’s Under-21 side beat Andorra 3-0, is using Hearts star Souttar as an example to rise into the first team.
“We all watched the game together and obviously everyone was delighted with the result,” McCrorie said. “Scotland played really well as a team from start to finish and took their chances. It was a great way to start the Nations League.
“We’re all used to playing with John in the younger age-groups so it was especially pleasing to see him play the way he did. We wouldn’t expect anything less.
“I think that also reminds the boys here that if you work hard and keep the head down then the senior squad isn’t an unrealistic target.”

McCrorie, 20, has been on the fringes of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this season after the club signed four new centre-backs this summer, while Ryan Jack has been used in a holding midfield role.
He has started just three games, and come on in four others, as Gerrard has pushed his side into the Europa League group stages.
McCrorie could face Dundee on Saturday at Ibrox, as Gerrard may look to rest his first-choice stars as they begin their Europa League campaign against Villarreal on Thursday.
