Rangers let teenager Malcolm Ebiowei leave for Derby County – and he could soon head to the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

Ebiowei actually started out in the Arsenal ranks but chose to leave North London back in 2019 for a move to Rangers.

Rangers seemingly felt they had a real talent on their hands at that point, but Ebiowei never really made the grade at Ibrox.

Ebiowei never made his first-team debut for Rangers and was on the move again in 2021, heading down to Derby County.

The teenage winger has quickly become a first-team player at Derby and now has 14 Championship appearances to his name.

Ebiowei has been earning huge praise off the back of his displays for Derby.

EFL analyst George Elek has praised Ebiowei as an ‘absolute talent’ having produced exciting displays in the Derby side.

Derby boss Wayne Rooney has hailed Ebiowei’s ‘incredible’ attitude, adding that he was ‘excellent’ in a recent display against Coventry City.

It seems that Ebiowei’s potential is now being spotted up in the Premier League.

The Sun report that Crystal Palace have made a ‘decisive move’ to sign Eboiwei when his Derby deal expires this summer.

It’s suggested that Eboiwei’s skill and speed have made him a wanted man and Palace are teeing up a deal to sign him.

Eboiwei could be loaned out next season with Palace taking a long-term view on the 19-year-old’s future.

Palace have already raided Derby for one teenager, signing Luke Plange – another former Arsenal youngster – before sending him back to Derby on loan.

Ebiowei could now follow Plange to Palace in a deal that may leave Rangers a little embarrassed.

It’s clear that Ebiowei has huge potential and even has the quality to make an impact in the Championship right now.

Rangers didn’t give Ebiowei the first-team chance at Ibrox and may now have to watch on as the teenager heads to the Premier League.
