Rangers and Everton job hunts go on, unlike West Ham’s swift resolution.

West Ham are not always renowned for having an organised approach to anything, especially appointing managers.
Their efforts to appoint Slaven Bilic in 2015 were almost shambolic as they pursued several high profile names like Marcelo Bielsa before circling back and going for the Croatian.
But this time around they showed lessons have been learned.
While some criticised them for not sacking Bilic sooner, their effectiveness in finding a replacement was immaculate.
David Moyes was confirmed as Bilic’s successor less than 24 hours after his predecessor’s dismissal.
It was swift, almost too well planned, but impressive at the same time.

The same cannot be said of Premier League competitors Everton and Scottish Premiership challengers Rangers.
Rangers sacked Pedro Caixinha on October 26, a fortnight ago.
They are no closer to appointing a successor, with under-20s boss Graeme Murty currently managing the first team.

Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes is a target, but he currently appears committed to his current side.
Everton fired Ronald Koeman even earlier than Rangers, on October 23, and their plans remain unclear.
Sam Allardyce and Sean Dyche have been linked, while Everton’s board reportedly had sights set on an unlikely move for Diego Simeone.
In the mean time, under-23s boss David Unsworth has taken on the job.

David Moyes may not be everybody’s cup of tea, even several West Ham fans, but the Hammers deserve credit for having a plan.
Changing manager mid-season is tough, and rushing into the wrong appointment could be a bad move too, but too much dawdling is not a great look, with it evident there is a lack of a plan.
West Ham learned their lessons from their previous managerial hunt, and planned ahead.
If Everton and Rangers find themselves in the same predicament in the near future, they should follow suit.
