Rangers saw Lewis Macleod leave Ibrox in January 2015.

Brentford playmaker Lewis Macleod has told The Mail on Sunday (page 71, August 19th 2018) that he wants a return to Rangers in the future.
The Gers lost a host of players after their dissolution in 2012, including homegrown talents such as Allan McGregor, John Fleck, and Jamie Ness, which certainly hurt the club and the fans.
Just as Rangers were getting back on track, another youth academy product left the club in January 2015, as Lewis Macleod headed to England with Brentford.
The playmaker had starred for Rangers with 16 goals in 74 games, having come up through the Rangers ranks following a 2004 switch from Livingston.
Since heading to England, the Scottish midfielder has endured an injury hell, and has made just 28 first-team appearances in almost four years since making his move to West London.
Macleod’s talent is undoubted, but he is now attempting to prove that he has the fitness to play regularly, and he made a strong start to the season with a goal and an assist against Rotherham United on the opening day of the season.
The 24-year-old will now be looking to kick on at Griffin Park and become an important player for Dean Smith’s side – even if he does have one eye on a potential return to Rangers one day.

Macleod has told The Mail on Sunday (page 71, August 19th 2018) that he wants to return to his boyhood club now they are in ‘good health’, though he feels he still has a lot to prove in England before making his dream return to Ibrox, making him a name for Steven Gerrard and co to keep a close eye on – especially with just one year left on his Brentford contract.
“I’d always say I’d like to go back to Rangers,” said Macleod. “Anyone that supports the club would say that. And if you could play for the club now that it’s in good health, that would be brilliant. But right now I feel I’ve got a lot to prove down here so I’m fully focused on that.”
“When I was at Ibrox, I was full of confidence. That’s just the feeling I want to get to here. It’s not so much learning how to play again. It’s getting used to certain situations in a game that were second nature. I’m only just getting used to that again,” he added.
