Rangers loanee Greg Docherty has been praised for stepping up.

Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty scored his first goal on loan this weekend.
Docherty was told by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard he could go out on loan to Shrewsbury to play regularly and gain first team experience.
The Rangers midfielder netted in a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth at the weekend.
Docherty came off the bench to score his goal, pleasing manager John Askey.
He said: “Sometimes you make subs and it goes right sometimes it doesn’t, it was a good finish and that’s what we’ve been lacking.”

Managers love it when a player proves them right with a substitution and makes them look smart, like Docherty here.
He has put himself back in position for a starting role and now needs to take advantage and show he deserves to be in the first XI.
He started the first four games of the season on loan before being benched for the last two.
Still only 21, this is a learning year for Docherty with regards to his Rangers future. His first goal is a positive first step.
