Rangers have been linked to Jorge Mendes client Aitor Karanka,

Glasgow Rangers’ managerial search continues to drag on, much to the frustration of supporters.
Karanka had mixed success at Middlesbrough, helping them win promotion, but failing to strike the right note in the Premier League.
Perhaps the best element of appointing Karanka would be his connections.

A former assistant to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, Karanka is represented by ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes.
Mendes has been very involved with Wolves over the past 18 months, and has helped them put together a team which top the Championship and look set to be big players in the top flight next season.
It was Karanka’s connections which allowed him to sign coups for Boro like former Barcelona man Victor Valdes.
Rangers are not blessed with pots of money, and could really benefit from Karanka being able to lean on Mendes to help attract better players to Ibrox.
The club still have reputation as one of football’s heavyweights, but results in recent years have not matched.
A little help wouldn’t go amiss, and Karanka could be a smart appointment.
