And the Czech goalkeeper might’ve only reinforced the Gers’ desire to bring him to Ibrox by grabbing an assist that Steven Gerrard would’ve been proud of.
The St Mirren goalkeeper, who had a blinder against Rangers last season, sprayed an over-the-top ball which Daniel Mullen latched on to to score in Saturday’s 5-2 defeat at Hearts.
The 28-year-old will have attracted interest from the Ibrox side due to his goalkeeping, but he clearly has an eye for a pass too and that might endear him to Gerrard, a legendary midfielder for Liverpool.
On the whole, it wasn’t a great performance from Hladky who could and should have done better for a couple of the goals at Tynecastle.
But he has been earning rave reviews since moving to Scotland in January and a shaky display against the Jambos is unlikely to make Rangers tear up plans to sign him.
Hladky has revealed that he would favour a move to England if he was to leave the Saints in January, but if he keeps impressing – and grabbing assists – then it might strengthen the light Blues’ desire.
