Rangers signed two strikers in August, with Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten arriving to bolster Steven Gerrard’s attacking options.
The Gers were maybe expecting to lose Alfredo Morelos, but with the Colombian still at the club, two new faces on board and Jermain Defoe still at Ibrox, Rangers have great attacking options.
They were linked with other options over the summer, and one of them was the relatively unknown Terem Moffi.
Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium reported back in July that Rangers were keen to sign Moffi from Kortrijk, but were put off by the asking price of €5million (£4.6million).
They ended up going for the cheaper Roofe and Itten instead, but Moffi is now set to land his big move – and it’s for even more than expected.
L’Equipe report that Moffi is set to sign for French side Lorient, with the deal expected to be worth between €7million and €8million (£6.4million and £7.3million).
The Nigerian attacker only joined Kortrijk from Lithuanian side FK Riteriai in January, but his five goals in 11 games in Belgium made him a wanted man.
At just 21, Moffi may be a name for Rangers to keep tabs on over the coming years, but they have already been priced out once and may have missed their chance if he continues to develop.
