Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers reportedly want the striker.
Rangers have been linked to a certain Josh Magennis.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, Steven Gerrard might be interested in signing the Northern Ireland and Bolton Wanderers striker this summer.
And if Magennis’s previous comments about Steven Davis are anything to go by, the big man might just jump at the chance to join Rangers and play alongside the classy midfielder on a regular basis.
Magennis and Davis play alongside one another at international level and, upon becoming a centurion in terms of appearances back in 2017, the hitman paid a glowing tribute to the 34-year-old – and even claimed that nobody will appreciate his talent until he has retired.
Here’s what he said to The Belfast Telegraph two years ago: “Winning 100 caps is phenomenal. Making 100 appearances at club level would be amazing, but to do it for your country, and especially being the talisman he is, is brilliant.
“People will be talking about him in the future as one of the greats. He has been so consistent, and I get to say I played alongside him. From top to bottom, his attitude is second to none, on and off the pitch.
“You won’t really realise how good he is until he has retired.”
Davis re-signed for the light Blues this summer on a permanent basis, having spent the second half of last season on loan with Gerrard’s side.
He did, by his own admission, have a difficult first month or so back at Ibrox, but the cream rose to the top eventually and the veteran midfielder reminded Rangers fans of his brilliance.
