Tam McManus has said on Twitter that reported Rangers target John Souttar had an ‘absolute shocker’ today.

According to TEAMtalk, Rangers are keen on the Hearts centre-back, who is valued at around £5 million.

But he didn’t look worth anywhere near that amount this afternoon during what was a sloppy performance in the Jambos’ 1-1 draw with Edinburgh rivals Hibernian in Leith.

Souttar was especially poor in the first half and here’s what McManus wrote about him on Twitter:

According to The Daily Record, the Gers’ Director of Football Mark Allen is a fan of the young defender, but he hasn’t covered himself in glory since the transfer links to Ibrox cropped up over the past few weeks and it has to be worrying for the light Blues.

That is a hell of a lot of money to spend on a player who is exhibiting concerning signs as of late, and it wouldn’t be a major surprise if Allen and Steven Gerrard reviewed their interest over the coming weeks.
