Rangers are being linked with a move for forward Uche Ikpeazu.

The Scottish Sun report Ikpeazu is a possible summer signing for Steven Gerrard’s side.

In doing so, Ikpeazu would follow former Hearts teammate Kyle Lafferty in swapping his club for Rangers.

Ikpeazu would certainly make life more difficult for Lafferty by moving to Ibrox, not that it would be his intention.

The Hearts forward is a real fan on Lafferty, praising his contribution to the club last summer.

Ikpeazu responded to Sky Sports when quizzed about Lafferty’s potential move to Rangers.

He said: “”He’s a character. Off the pitch as well, he’s a big player.

“Last season he scored 19 goals. He’s a great player for the team. I don’t deal with all the speculation and stuff.

“But what I do know is that he is a good player. It’s great to have him here, I don’t know what’s going to happen, but if he stays that’ll be good. We’ll just have to wait and see, it’s not in my hands.”

Rangers were successful in signing Lafferty, and it hasn’t really worked out.

He has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the side, while in his absence, Ikpeazu has really stepped up for Hearts.

He may enjoy being reunited with Lafferty off the pitch, but on it, it will be difficult for both to succeed at Ibrox.
