Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are fans of the Austrian, confirmed Daniel Bachmann.
Daniel Bachmann has admitted to The Scottish Sun that he found it ‘nice’ to be linked with a move to Rangers.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper revealed in April [The Scottish Sun] that there had been talks with Rangers about bringing him to Ibrox.
Bachmann, on loan from Watford, has impressed with Kilmarnock this season and comes up against Steven Gerrard’s Gers side at Rugby Park this afternoon.
And although he has reiterated a desire to go back to the Premier League, he couldn’t help but admit that it was flattering to hear Gerrard wanted him in Glasgow.
He told The Scottish Sun: “I feel I can go to Watford and play in the Premier League. That is my target — to go back there and play.
“It was nice to be linked with a big club like Rangers. If you’re playing well, there will be speculation with clubs.”
It has been a decent first season for Gerrard at Rangers. He won’t win a trophy, but he did lead the light Blues into the group stages of the Europa League, a huge bit of progress.
Luring him to Glasgow was big news when it was announced last May, and Bachmann reckons that the Liverpool icon has been a major plus for Scottish football as a whole.
“I do think Steven Gerrard coming up here helped the league, especially in the press and the way it’s seen down south.
“It’s a very good standard and I honestly didn’t expect it to be as good as it is.”
