Steven Gerrard is rumoured to want the former Rangers defender back at Ibrox.
Craig Halkett has told the Scottish Sun it is ‘always a compliment’ to be linked with clubs like Glasgow Rangers.
Halkett came through the youth ranks at Rangers, but left Ibrox for Livingston two-and-a-half-years ago.
Since then, the 23-year-old has captained Livi to promotion from the Scottish Championship and the cusp of the Premier League’s top half.
And his form is said to have alerted Rangers, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers ahead of the January transfer window.
But Halkett insisted he is not currently thinking about move.
“I just want to ignore any talk about my future,” he said.
“My job is at Livingston and I want to focus on my own performances and pick up as many points as I can for Livingston.
“But, of course, that (the interest) is always a compliment.”
Halkett’s position is one in which Rangers are likely to have an eye on strengthening in 2019, with the contracts of Gareth McAuley and Joe Worrall due to expire at the end of this season.
And their would leave Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic as Steven Gerrard’s only senior centre-backs heading into next season.
Halkett is also in the final year of his deal, after which he is able to move clubs without a transfer fee.
