Ally McCoist trends throughout the country after reuniting with Jon Champion
Wednesday night saw Rangers suffer a setback on the field, but one club legend had a more positive evening.
While his former team crashed out of the Betfred Cup in Paisley, Ally McCoist’s name trended throughout the country on Twitter as he teamed up with an old friend in Liverpool.
McCoist reunited with World Cup 2018 commentary partner Jon Champion for Amazon Prime Video Sport, with the pair keeping viewers entertained throughout the home side’s dramatic 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
The duo were a firm favourite with viewers at the World Cup, which saw McCoist enlivening even the dullest fixtures with facts and anecdotes about the city he found himself in.
The natural rapport between Champion and McCoist was on show once again during the top-of-the-table English Premier League clash, and at one point ‘McCoist’ was the second-top trend in the whole of the UK.
McCoist and Champion will team up once again this evening for Amazon’s coverage of the match at Bramall Lane between bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United and mid-table side Manchester United.
