Rangers manager Mark Warburton may have to replace Andy Halliday with Dominic Ball against Falkirk in the Scottish Championship at Ibrox today.
Barry Ferguson has suggested in The Daily Record that Dominic Ball may not be suitable to play in midfield for Rangers today.
Rangers will take on Falkirk at Ibrox in Glasgow in the Scottish Championship this afternoon.
With key midfielder Andy Halliday suspended for the clash, Tottenham Hotspur-owned Ball could be drafted into the team in his place.
Ferguson, who played for Rangers in the 1990s and noughties and is considered a club legend, has suggested that Ball may not be the right replacement as he is a central defender by trade.
“No wonder Warburton is asking for clarification because Halliday is such an important player for him and Rangers don’t really have many options in that area,” the former Scotland international wrote in The Daily Record.
“Dominic Ball has filled in there on a couple of occasions and I expect he’ll come into the team again at the weekend but he’s a centre half by trade so the manager is spinning plates here.”
Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 53 points from 21 matches.
The Gers are five points clear of Hibernian, who are currently second and are their main rivals for the league title.
Falkirk are aiming to finish in the playoffs and are third in the standings at the moment with 46 points from 22 games.
