Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Louis Moult from Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

According to a recent report in The Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in signing Louis Moult from Motherwell in the summer transfer window.
Moult is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and has been in brilliant form for Motherwell this season.
The 25-year-old former Stoke City man has scored 18 goals in all competitions for Stephen Robinson’s side this campaign.

Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has praised Moult and has written in The Glasgow Evening Times: “What has impressed me most about Moult in the times that I have watched him is that he can score all sorts of goals.
“Rangers have witnessed that first-hand this season with the goals he scored against them, and he scored a couple of peaches against Celtic at Fir Park earlier in the season too.
“He is strong in the air and has that predatory instinct that all good strikers have, as well as being a handful for defenders with his physical style too.”

Johnstone, though, has pointed out a stumbling block. The 63-year-old former Scotland international has said that Moult looks to be an expensive signing.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers will have to pay £500,000 and include 26-year-old Scottish forward Michael O’Halloran in order to sign Moult.
“The only stumbling block for me would be on the price being mentioned,” Johnstone wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times. “I don’t think it would make sense for Rangers to part with half a million quid and Michael O’Halloran, a player who cost them about the same amount in the first place.
“Yes, O’Halloran has struggled since making the step up to Rangers, but there is always the risk that Moult would find that hard to deal with too. If Rangers could do a straight swap, then I think that would be a very good bit of business.”
Rangers finished third in the 2016-17 Scottish Premiership table with 67 points from 38 matches. The Gers are unlikely to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the league title next season, but they should try to close.
Pedro Caixinha’s side’s main objective next season should be to finish above Aberdeen in second place in the Scottish Premiership.
