Rangers have made a decent start to life under Steven Gerrard.

Rangers legend Lee McCulloch spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times about his former side’s start to life under Steven Gerrard, and suggested that the difference between the current setup and the one that Pedro Caixinha oversaw last season is night and day.
The Gers currently sit in third spot in the Scottish Premiership table, five points adrift of league leaders Hearts, although they do have a game in hand over the Edinburgh outfit.
Rangers have also made a decent start to their Europa League campaign, and currently sit in second place in their group, having taken five points from their opening three outings.
Gerrard’s men have received criticism for their performances in recent weeks, however, with some fans suggesting that nothing has changed since Caixinha’s reign.
McCulloch fiercely refuted that claim, though, when speaking exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times:

“A little over a year ago, our manager was standing in a hedge arguing with punters after one of the worst results in the club’s history, so I’m not having any of the comparisons that are being made to Pedro Caixinha’s time in charge at Ibrox due to Gerrard’s side’s own domestic record thus far. In Europe, Gerrard’s team has set a new club record after going 11 matches undefeated and have surpassed all expectations just by reaching the Europa League group stages. Nobody can tell me that what they are watching now isn’t night and day to what they were forced to endure back then.”
Next up for Rangers is a trip to Spartak Moscow on Thursday night, and Gerrard’s men really will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of leaving Russia with anything to show for their efforts.
