Ibrox pair John and James Tavernier are an attacking set of full-backs for Rangers.

Rangers left-back Declan John has been speaking to the club’s official website this week and admitted that the club’s attacking personality could be something of a weakness.
The Welshman, who was signed from Cardiff City, has been in eye-catching form since he made the move to Ibrox and fans in Glasgow have been very impressed with his form.
However, a defensive left-back he is not. Combined with James Tavernier on the other side, whose defensive abilities have always been outweighed by his attacking ones, Rangers are certainly flakey at the back – a fact made evident in their 5-3 win against Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership last week.

But speaking to the official Rangers website, John explained they were working hard on improving their defensive duties:
“I think if you look at the football we do play, it is quite attacking, especially with myself and Tav [James Tavernier].
“We just want to push up the pitch and try to create as many goals as we can, but that does leave us open at times, although, I think over the last few weeks we have been working on that and getting better at it.”
Rangers will need to be at their best defensively with Hearts looking to set two former Gers heroes in Kyle Lafferty and Steven Naismith on them this weekend.

John and his team-mates will need to be on top form in order to avoid defeat. If they manage to get the win, they can put some pressure on league leaders Celtic – who take on Aberdeen on Sunday.
Hopefully Rangers can tighten up at the back, without losing any of their attacking flair this weekend.
