Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were humbled on the weekend.

In an interview with The Mail, Rangers captain Lee Wallace praised Josh Windass’s performance in Saturday’s 5-1 defeat by Celtic at Parkhead.
If there was a positive for the Gers, it came in the form of Windass as the 22-year-old midfielder put the occasion to one side to emerge as Rangers’ best player on the day.

The former Accrington star is still a relatively new face in Scottish football following his summer move to Ibrox, but Wallace says there were signs of his talent early on.
And the Ranger captain has also revealed that his performance on Saturday was highlighted by veteran striker Kenny Miller in the dressing room afterwards.
“Kenny pointed out Josh’s performance in the dressing room when we spoke afterwards,” Wallace told The Mail.

“We knew as early as pre-season in Charleston that he could be a real asset to our team and the way we play.
“He is the epitome of everything we want to do — playing limited touches, a bit of risk, a bit of skill and dynamic movement.”
In time, Rangers fans may draw solace from Windass’s showing but, in reality, the severity of this defeat will take its time to heal – and for good reason.
It was supposed to be a game in which Mark Warburton’s side illustrated the minimal gap between both Glasgow giants, but instead it seems obvious that there is one – a big one, at that.
They are back in action at Ibrox next Saturday for the visit of Ross County.
