Umar Sadiq was a bonafide flop at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, but so was the player who contributed to his failure.

Umar Sadiq was already bitter over the fact he flopped at Rangers.
The Nigerian striker, who had his loan from Roma terminated after five months last season, told The Sunday Post earlier this year that the late signing of Kyle Lafferty was the beginning of the end for him.
The ex-Rangers man, who only had Alfredo Morelos as competition when Lafferty was signed, said: “As I say, for me everything went wrong after they brought in another striker.”
Sadiq, who only played 114 minutes of football with the Gers, is right. The Northern Irish striker did push him down the pecking order and ultimately contributed to his failure in Glasgow.
But the 22-year-old might feel even more bitter about the whole thing now, given that Lafferty has just had his contract terminated, less than a year after joining [the light Blues’ official site].
Sadiq could probably live with the fact he failed at Ibrox if he was pushed aside for someone like, say, Jermain Defoe, a legendary goalscorer who remains a big player under Steven Gerrard.
But the fact that he was pushed aside for a player who it turns out was never really even needed, well that might make it a much more bitter pill to swallow for Sadiq, now at Partizan Belgrade.
Lafferty just scored six times in 30 appearances on his second stint at Rangers.
