Rangers defender Niko Katic has had to endure almost a year on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury during pre-season β but Gers fans were delighted as the Croatian was pictured after returned to training at Ibrox with the first-team squad.
Katic has had to watch from a distance as Steven Gerrardβs side romped to the Scottish Premiership title this season and his replacement, Leon Balogun, impressed enough to win a new one-year contract.
With the Gers short on bodies in defence due to injuries and suspension, Katic wouldβve been very handy to have around just now to see out the season and get over the line as invincibles.
His return to fitness will come as a big boost for the new campaign and Katic will undoubtedly have a point to prove after a year out of action.
